Wild Animals in the yard

We are no strangers to the wildlife here. However with that said they are still pretty cool.

This is the Blue Heron that visits us from time to time. This was a weird day as it stayed at the lake alllllll day. Its wingspan is massive. It reminds me of a terradactyl.


I was wondering where all the deer were as we had not seen them in a while. Then remembering about the turkey, I surmised that the bird ate all the deer. (I know this can not actually happen, I was being silly.) But in the same day we saw the turkey and then 5 deer. Keith did not believe me about the turkey until he saw it.


This is a branch directly by the home office window. I'm not sure if it is the same squirrel but there is a squirrel that curls up on this branch often. And even though we find them pesty and they ate all my tulips (within an hour of planting years ago) I thought it was cool.

Katie Bird

We are puppy sitting this weekend while Keith's parents are in DC. So for the next few days we are kcubed... get it, k to the third power, k^3.

Kate's farts are smellier than Keith's.

Even so, we still love her <3.>


While Keith and I were first dating, she would do exactly this with him - sit on his lap at the computer. Back then I was still at Rowan and while doing school work we would talk on AIM. Katie would also type to me! (That could be because she was a young puppy) But right now she's being shy.


So yesterday when I got home there were two deer across the pond (hanging out where we took our engagement pics). I had my camera with me and wanted to get some new shots. Well the one did not like me at all. It kept stomping it's foot massively hard into the ground. I read later that this is to let other deer know that there are threats in this area and to stay away. Not sure if it was a buck or not; they usually lose their antlers in the winter.

I guess the stomping worked because Katie usually sees the deer at night when she pees and she did not have a barking fit last night.
